Orange Belt is a local organization that is passionate about cycling and our community. Our mission is to showcase our amazing region by bringing a criterium cycling race to the streets of St. Petersburg. As hosts, we welcome with open arms L39ION of Los Angeles, Justin Williams, and The Wasserman Media Group, who together are planning and organizing a day full of racing and non-stop entertainment. Orange Belt acts as a liaison between the race organizers and our local municipalities, community leaders, and neighborhoods. Our priority is to present an unbelievable backdrop for racing, a great course for the riders, and to bring out our residents in force to amp up the energy of race day.

A criterium, often referred to as a "crit," is a type of bicycle road race characterized by its short course. Unlike traditional road races that cover long distances, criteriums are held on closed-loop courses, usually in urban or downtown areas. These courses are typically short, ranging from a half-mile to 1.5 miles in length, and they feature multiple tight turns. Criteriums are popular for their spectator-friendly format, as the course allows spectators to witness the action up close and personal. These events often feature large fields of racers, making for exciting and competitive races. The total race distance can vary, with beginner-level crits covering around 15 miles and professional-level races extending up to 60 miles, typically lasting from 25 minutes to 90 minutes.
